1 Mile

The ultimate fitness test and status symbol. Do you know who broke the 10 seconds 100m? The 2hrs30m marathon? Nope, but you do know who broke the 4 minute mile. The mile is high profile, hard but accessible to everyone.

5km

The most common mass participation event; Park runs, Race for life, Coach 2 5km… There are so many opportunities to train for and run 5km, so let’s make sure you get it right!

10km

So you’ve mastered 5km, or perhaps have more stamina than speed, but 10km is the natural next step. 10km’s attract the biggest average number of participants per race, giving it that big day feel.

Half Marathon

You start to get to some famous races at this distance, the Great North Run perhaps topping the lot. If you’re lucky enough in the ballot or find an alternative race, you’ll have 13.1 miles ahead of you, it’s now very tactical.

Marathon

The challenge big and scary enough for people to be sponsored £1000s to run this distance. It’s no longer a mainly physical challenge now, the mental side of it can easily get the better of you, but RunClever won’t let that happen.
